Google Removes $50K Barrier for Lead Form Assets Access

Advertisers no longer need to spend $50,000 to use Google Lead Form assets. The update expands eligibility, adds Zapier integration, and clarifies lead data retention. More countries are now supported, making lead generation easier for smaller businesses.

Google has eliminated its long-standing $50,000 ad spend requirement for accessing Lead Form assets, opening the door for a wider range of advertisers to use its native lead generation tools. The change, quietly reflected in updated Help documentation, means that smaller businesses can now leverage Lead Form assets without meeting a high spend threshold.

Previously, advertisers needed to either surpass $50,000 in Google Ads spend or qualify as a reputable advertiser with at least $1,000 per account (or $15,000 across accounts) and complete Advertiser Verification. Now, only the reputation and verification path remains, significantly lowering the barrier to entry for many marketers.

This update also brings changes to campaign compatibility. Lead Form assets, which were once available for Search, Performance Max, Display, and Video (beta) campaigns, are now officially supported only in Search and Performance Max campaigns. References to Display and Video campaigns have been removed from the main overview, though some documentation still mentions Display, suggesting a transition period in Google's support materials.

In addition to eligibility changes, Google has expanded the ways advertisers can receive leads. New options include email notifications and Zapier integration, joining existing methods like CSV download, webhooks, and the Google Ads API. The Zapier integration, in particular, offers a no-code solution for automatically routing leads into thousands of CRM and business applications.

Google has also clarified its lead data retention policies. The updated documentation now specifies that manual CSV downloads are available for 30 days, while Google stores lead data for up to 60 days. API exports can access up to 60 days of lead data, providing clearer guidance for advertisers managing their lead pipelines.

The positioning of Lead Form assets has shifted as well. While previous documentation emphasized lead generation and conversion increases, the new language highlights higher-quality leads, greater lead volume, easier implementation, and the use of OTP verification to improve lead quality.

Geographic availability has expanded, with more than two dozen additional countries-including Bahrain, Croatia, Estonia, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, Qatar, Serbia, Slovenia, and Tunisia-now eligible to use Lead Form assets. This broader rollout aligns with Google's ongoing efforts to make its advertising products more accessible globally.

These changes follow a series of recent updates to Google's ad products, such as the introduction of business data feeds in Demand Gen campaigns, which further demonstrate the company's push to make advanced advertising tools available to a wider range of industries and markets.
