Fi Uses AI to Create Photorealistic Dogs for New Campaign

A smart pet tech company is using advanced AI to generate lifelike dog images for its latest product launch. The campaign highlights breed-specific details and real animal behavior.

Media and content professionals tracking the intersection of AI and creative production have a new case study: Fi, a smart pet technology company, is leveraging advanced AI tools to generate photorealistic dog visuals for its latest campaign. The initiative showcases how AI can deliver breed-accurate details and authentic animal movement, aiming to resonate with dog owners who recognize the nuances of their pets.

The campaign, developed by Dolsten & Co., an AI-first creative studio led by Simon Dolsten, uses Claude, Kling and VEO AI to render dogs with precise breed markings and gaits. According to the company, the creative process involved animal behaviorists to ensure each AI-generated dog matched real-world characteristics. The campaign features an AI version of Fi founder Jonathan Bensamoun's dog, Thor, as a central figure in the promotional spots.

Fi's new product, the Fi Ultra, is described as the first wearable for dogs powered by T-Satellite with Starlink, enabling owners to track their pets' locations anywhere in the U.S., including remote areas. The campaign, titled “Unleash the Wild,” is running across digital, social and TV channels. Fi head of brand Ryan Adair said the product required a unique creative approach, distinct from the brand’s previous storytelling methods, to reflect its innovative features.

Karina Kogan, Fi’s recently appointed CMO and former marketing leader at Oura, Peloton and Infinite Reality, noted that this marks the first time the company has developed a photorealistic film using images of real dogs and Fi members at this level of detail. Kogan stated that partnering with an AI-first studio allowed Fi to bypass traditional production constraints and achieve high-end results within an indie budget. The film transports viewers across North America's most remote landscapes and concludes by highlighting Fi Callback, a training system for Fi Ultra that uses only sound and vibration to recall off-leash dogs, avoiding static or electric shock.
