Analysts see OpenAI’s ad business reaching $54 billion within four years. The company’s advertiser base is expected to grow rapidly as its Ads Manager expands. Market share could rival top digital platforms.
OpenAI’s advertising ambitions are drawing attention from digital media professionals as new projections suggest the company could become a dominant force in the online ad market. According to NewStreet Research, OpenAI’s ad revenue could reach $110 billion by 2030 in a bullish scenario, with a more conservative estimate placing revenue at $54 billion in less than four years.
Dan Salmon of NewStreet Research highlighted advertiser count as a key indicator of long-term business health and ad auction dynamics. OpenAI currently reports having thousands of advertisers, and Salmon expects this number to reach hundreds of thousands by the end of the year as the Ads Manager beta continues to roll out. The company’s early focus on small and medium-sized businesses signals a goal of attracting millions of advertisers over time.
These projections position OpenAI alongside leading digital platforms in terms of advertiser base, revenue potential, and market share. While direct comparisons to peer ad market shares were not available, Salmon noted that OpenAI’s projected annual ad revenue per user could place it in the same range as Reddit by 2030.
For context, the rapid growth of digital advertising platforms has been a recurring theme in the industry. For example, a recent report on automation and complexity in digital ad sales explored how new technologies can reshape the competitive landscape for publishers and advertisers.
