Users can access this information by tapping the three dots or info button on any ad, which opens the same panel where options to block or report ads are found.
According to Google, the AI disclosure label will be automatically applied to ads generated with its own generative AI advertising tools. However, ads produced with external AI platforms will require advertisers to manually add the label. This move aims to provide greater clarity for users about the origins of the ads they see across Google's major platforms.
The new labeling system is rolling out in select regions, with plans for broader expansion.
