Pixel 11 owners in the US can now let Gemini make business calls, handle phone menus, and transcribe calls live. The feature is in beta, needs a Gemini subscription, and marks a shift in how people use AI for real conversations.

Robots aren’t just screening your calls anymore. Now, they’re making them. Google has switched on its Call for Me feature for Pixel 11 users in the US. With it, Gemini can call businesses, work through automated menus, and wait on hold. The phone shows a live transcript as the call happens. This puts AI in charge of the kind of calls most people dread.

Call for Me isn’t just a background tool. If you have a Pixel 11, a Gemini subscription, and access to the Phone by Google app’s public beta, you can ask Gemini to call a hardware store, a barber, or any business. Gemini introduces itself, asks questions, and handles the whole call. If there’s an automated menu, Gemini works through it. If there’s a wait, Gemini stays on the line. You can jump in at any time and take over, with every word shown live on your screen.

At launch, Call for Me is available exclusively on the Pixel 11 series-including Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and 11 Pro Fold-and only for users in the United States.

This isn’t Google’s first try at AI calling. Almost ten years ago, Duplex let Google Assistant book restaurant tables by phone. That project ended, but now Gemini’s large language models are behind a bigger, more flexible system. Gemini uses the same voice as Gemini Live, no matter what accent you pick. It’s built mainly for business calls. It won’t call emergency services or certain blocked numbers. If Gemini can’t find a business’s number, you can give it one yourself.

Call for Me joins other smart calling tools on Pixel and Android. The Phone app already screens calls, blocks robocalls, and has Hold for Me, which listens for hold music to stop before telling you to pick up. Direct My Call shows menu options before they’re spoken, so you can tap and skip long recordings. Real-time Scam Detection warns you about suspicious calls as they happen. These features are now common, as people get used to AI blocking spam and unknown callers.

But phone calls are still unpredictable. Some businesses might think an AI assistant is spam and hang up. Gemini’s skills with accents, background noise, and tricky requests are still being tested. Google says it will keep improving the feature by running it through all kinds of real calls. If a business can’t help, Gemini will end the call politely. Google is clear: Call for Me is experimental, and user feedback will shape what comes next.

Google officially began the early rollout of Call for Me on September 24, 2026, limiting access to paid Gemini subscribers and participants in the public beta of Phone by Google. Prior to this, mentions of the feature were limited to code teardowns and leaks, with no confirmed launch date.

While Google pushes AI-driven calling, businesses are trying their own bots too. At California’s Pizza My Heart, customers can text a chatbot to order pizza. AI-to-AI phone calls are now real. Soon, a customer’s Gemini assistant could be talking to a restaurant’s chatbot, sorting out a pizza order with no humans involved. For more on Gemini’s voice features, check out our recent coverage.

Google is rolling out Call for Me slowly. It’s only for Pixel 11 users with a Gemini subscription and public beta access. But the impact is immediate for anyone who deals with business calls or customer service. The live transcript and easy switch between AI and user show how AI can make daily tasks smoother. For publishers and creators, the message is simple: AI isn’t just making content anymore. It’s now handling real conversations, and those who adapt early will work faster and serve users better. As Gemini grows, the line between digital assistant and human helper is fading. The winners will be those who use these tools to get more done without losing control.

Google, based in Mountain View, California, reported over $300 billion in revenue in 2025. Its Pixel line keeps pushing new mobile AI features. The Gemini platform, launched in 2024, is now a key part of Google’s AI plans, powering voice assistants, search, productivity, and creative tools across its products.
