Advertisers will soon access faster insights on whether TV ads drive real business results. Fox and iSpot are broadening their partnership to deliver outcome-based data, not just reach metrics.
Media buyers and publishers who rely on TV advertising are about to get faster answers to a question that directly impacts campaign ROI: did those commercials actually drive business results? Fox and iSpot have announced an expanded partnership aimed at providing advertisers with near real-time data that connects TV ad exposure to tangible outcomes, such as purchases or showroom visits, rather than just traditional reach figures.
According to Fox Corp.'s senior vice president of research, Kym Frank, brands increasingly want to know if their ad spend is delivering measurable results beyond impressions. She said the new measurement capabilities will help clients determine whether their investments are effective, and allow for smarter planning and optimization across categories.
For years, linking ad exposure to consumer action has been a challenge for marketers. The rise of streaming and interactive video has only increased pressure on networks to prove the value of ad placements. In May, Fox introduced a new data report for clients that evaluates commercials based on outcomes like increased brand awareness, shifts in purchase consideration, and viewer engagement.
Stuart Schwartzapfel, executive vice president of media partnerships at iSpot, said the expanded partnership will make outcome data available to all Fox advertisers, not just the largest spenders, and deliver it much faster than before. This move is expected to benefit both national brands and smaller advertisers using connected TV platforms.
iSpot has previously partnered with other major media companies, including NBCUniversal, to develop alternative measurement systems. However, some agency pushback over vendor selection has led to a more competitive landscape for measurement providers.
The collaboration between Fox and iSpot dates back to 2015, when Fox first adopted iSpot’s real-time TV ad measurement tools. Over time, the partnership has grown to include creative measurement, audience verification, and business outcomes attribution across both linear and streaming channels.
This focus on outcome-based measurement reflects a broader shift in advertising priorities, as marketers seek more actionable data to justify spend and optimize campaigns. The trend is also visible in other parts of the industry, as seen in recent coverage of how the open internet is closing the gap with walled gardens by offering improved measurement and data transparency, such as in this analysis of ad spend shifts.
Fox and iSpot’s latest move signals a continued push for more granular, timely, and actionable insights in TV and streaming advertising, with the goal of helping advertisers of all sizes make better decisions and maximize return on investment.
