A major insurance brand has selected a new media agency after a competitive review. Havas Media will now oversee national media strategy and buying for Farmers Insurance. The shift follows recent changes to the company's creative partnerships.

Agency shifts will note that Farmers Insurance has named Havas Media as its new media agency of record, following a formal review. The appointment covers an estimated $51.5 million in annual media spending, according to figures from COMvergence.

Effective immediately, Havas Media will manage media strategy, planning, buying, activation, and measurement for Farmers Insurance's national marketing campaigns. The move comes after Farmers Insurance conducted separate reviews for its creative and media agency relationships earlier this year.

In April, Farmers Insurance announced Dentsu Creative as its new creative agency. Previously, the company worked with both RPA and Zenith on media assignments, with RPA serving as its longtime creative partner. The latest agency changes are part of a broader effort to clarify and simplify the company's marketing approach.

Farmers Insurance has also introduced new creative work and resources, including the Farmers Coverage on a Page tool, which provides a clear summary of coverage for select auto and home policies. The company has launched Farmers Coverage Review sessions as well, aiming to make insurance terms more accessible to consumers. Eleanor Solomon, head of creative at Farmers Insurance, said the strategy is focused on making coverage easy to understand, without legal jargon or complexity.

Agency reviews and restructurings are not unique to the insurance sector. For example, a recent analysis of automation in digital ad sales highlighted how shifts in agency relationships can impact both complexity and transparency for publishers and advertisers.

Farmers Insurance, founded in 1928, is one of the largest insurers of vehicles, homes, and small businesses in the United States. The company serves more than 10 million households with over 19 million individual policies, supported by a network of approximately 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and employees nationwide.
